10 Movies To Watch If You Liked Ready Or Not | ScreenRant

The awkward blend of unspoken trauma and emotions is tense enough, but soon the hosts divulge that they have joined a less orthodox belief system. What follows is a slow burn reveal that no one at the party is safe, and perhaps no one in the city is safe either. It is a superbly acted drama with a powerful sense of dread.

A deaf writer locks herself away in a remote cabin, only to be unknowingly hunted by a home invader. The use of sound is used both to raise the thrills, but also in embracing a slightly comedic tone. Hush is a perfect blend of both horror and humor, that has an excellent final girl right at its center.

The gimmick of having a deaf protagonist might seem cheap to some, but it benefits the film to stand apart from others in the genre, inventing a new way to amp up the scares and the laughs. They also combine humor and horror to create visceral pieces of horror storytelling for a wide audience.

A game night gone wrong? That sounds a bit familiar. Led by an excellent cast, this film ebraces its board game theme and pushes it to the next level. Both show the best of both sides of the romantic and familial spectrum, but with the backdrop of a fun and gimmicky premise. The bloodiest game of 'Hide and Seek' you've ever seen

Despite several attempts to sacrifice her, Grace manages to survive until the sun rises and, initially, it appears that the whole deal was meaningless, a myth. Until every member of the Le Domas family begin exploding in a very bloody fashion. It's an unexpected, shocking and supremely entertaining climax, especially for Grace's delirious reaction. Much like Get Out switched from a darker ending to a crowd-pleasing one , Ready or Not did exactly the same. A lot darker," executive producer Chad Villella told Bloody Disgusting , adding that it saw Alex, Grace's husband, kill her and the Le Domas family get away with it.

It would have been a serious downer ending, given how much you root for Grace throughout the movie. You certainly wouldn't want to rewatch it knowing that all of her effort to survive was going to be for nothing. And, weirdly, you've got President Donald Trump to thank for the ending being changed.

It was like, we're living that shit now. We don't need to go experience it at the movies. Let's have the cathartic version.

Co-director Tyler Gillett added: "It was really clear that one version of the movie has the audience leaving cheering and the other one has the audience leaving like, really feeling the same general terror that we're all experiencing in our daily lives anyway. Changing the ending wasn't the only smart decision they made, as there was originally a coda without Grace.
